MOTHERS WALKING GROUP
Enjoy a social walk with other mothers in local Mount Eliza streets.  Meet at MENH

Enjoy a game of Mahjong or come and learn to play. 
All welcome.

EMBROIDERY AND SEWING GROUP   
Social group of embroiderers. Come for advice or learn how to use your machine.

APPLE, ANDROID & WINDOWS CLASS
Do you want to be able to use your phone, iPad, tablet, PC or laptop well? Want to know how to protect yourself on the internet against viruses and scams? Maybe you want to know a way to save all those passwords you write onto paper or how to send emails and pictures. You might want to use apps like Facebook or Skype but are not sure how. This course will cover all this and more. Each session also involves you being able to ask the questions you want answers to within a friendly environment.

GENTLE EXERCISE FOR OVER 55S
Class 1 - 9am
Aerobic, balance and coordination. Floor/mat work, stretches and core strength.

Class 2 - 10.15am
Gentle, seated workout.  Aerobic balance, left and right coordination movements. Strength, bands and weights to keep those muscles toned.
Cost: $5 per class.

BOARD GAMES/ WORD PLAY
We’re bringing back the old fashioned games! Play Scrabble, Monopoly, Cluedo with new friends.

OVER 55’S COMPUTER DISCUSSION GROUP
Come and make friends, have a chat about
computer issues and learn new skills.

MOUNT ELIZA MENS SHED
The Shed is open to local men of all ages from 18 and above. It is particularly aimed at those who have retired (partially or fully) from the paid workforce, those who may be between jobs and seeking to re-enter the workforce, or younger men who are seeking to make their first major entry into the workforce.  Current Shed activities include woodwork, small community projects and most importantly socialising over a cuppa.

VOLUNTEER BOOMERANG BAG MAKING FOR TEENS
We are looking for Teens who would love to volunteer their time to make Boomerang Bags and help the environment.  Sewing lessons available, no skills required.  Sessions will run from 4pm - 5:30pm Thursdays during school term.

A pre-accredited program or course at a Learn Local organisation can give you the skills and knowledge you need to enter further study or help you decide what career you might be interested in. This term we have three courses available:

HANDS ON HOSPITALITY
This course provides an introduction to the hospitality industry to assist students in identifying further education and employment pathways. Over 5 weeks topics will cover: basic food hygiene, personal presentation and grooming, customer service, basic food and beverage skills, cooking at the Community Lunch, developing teamwork and employability skills and exploring the types of jobs and careers available in the hospitality industry.

Dates: Thursday 1st November for 5 weeks

INTRODUCTION TO DIVERSIONAL ART THERAPY
This is an introduction to work in Diversional/Art               
Therapy activities for those considering studying, or working in aged care. It will also suit carers or those who would like to use art as a therapy at home. Over 8 weeks, the tutor will take you through different media and art methods used in Diversional Therapy.

Learn about the basics to help you how to manage your money and finances. Topics covered will include, but not be limited to:

Where to go for tools and support

We have 3 meeting rooms, spacious decking and a
playground for children with a great view of the surrounding parkland. Our resources include computers, smart TV, digital projector, WiFi and seating for 40 people throughout the Centre. 
Suitable for business meetings or social events such as children's birthdays. Our rates are very reasonable.

The Mount Eliza Men’s Shed currently meets on Wednesday afternoons
(1.00 pm – 4.00pm) and Thursday mornings (9.00 am– 12.30pm).

Men of all ages, not only retirees, are welcome to join us. We are looking for new members – and more sessions! Do you have a special skill or interest you wish to share – or form a new interest group? We are keen to be more than a ‘hammers and nails’ group – so let us know what you would like to do, and we will work with you to make it happen. This is your chance to help our community with special projects  as well as share your interests. Men’s Sheds are a social/mental health initiative –so get out and join us for a cuppa!
